- 30 Copies reserved for the press, marked "Author's Copy" Street Price
- A lettered state of an indeterminate number of copies designated the "artist's presentation state" signed by the authors and the book's 10 illustrators. These were for presentation and not for sale. The limitation page reads: "This presentation copy #___ of 70 copies of this special illustrated first edition of the Talisman is signed by the participants in the edition and is not for sale." - 70 numbered presentation copies, with were also signed by all the authors and illustrators. The limitation page reads the same as the lettered state above. $1,700-$2,000 (est)
- A deluxe edition of 1,200 copies bound in white cloth, numbered and signed by King and Straub. The limitation page reads "This special illustrated edition of The Talisman is limited to 1200 numbered copies signed by the authors. This is copy ___. While is issue price back in '84 was $120, it costs more now. $1,400-$1,600
- A trade edition of 1,200 copies bound in grey cloth, not numbered or signed was also issued at a price of just $65. Nowadays $175-$250
- In September 2002 a combination Talisman/Black House gift edition of 3,500 copies was made available. This edition is unsigned by King but is signed by coauthor Peter Straub and artist Rick Berry and includes many full color illustrations thru out the book. This edition is housed in a black slipcase with illustrated dust jackets for each book . This edition is now officially out of print; however there are enough copies floating around that you can still get it for the cover price. Cover price $150
