* To the great suprise of many, bookstores on issue day often had only 2nd or 3rd printings available. This lead to a flurry of chatter on social media about where the first printing copies were and how many there were. There is a thread up on our forums on this topic. While I have been unable to indepenently verify the print numbers or reason behind the smaller than usual print run I have heard two things that I'm going to list below. If anyone has more details or a first hand source please email me and we'll update the page accordingly:

1) Print Run - 100,000 copies. This comes from a source that emailed in with a friend at scribner that was told just 100,000 first printings were made.
2) Paper Issues - This comes from a bookseller I talked to who heard from their Scibner rep that there was some sort of issue with the paper causing them to cut the first printing run short. It sounds like a plausible explanation for the smallest SK print run in decades, but again only from a single source. It might be interesting to compare a 1st vs 2nd printing for paper feel, thickness, etc.
